Gavin's New Hair Cut

Greg decided it was time Gavin visited the Barber shop for some Dad and Son time. We didn't know if Gavin would even go for the idea of a hair cut. We just packed his sea creatures in his Thomas the Train backpack and some snacks and told him Daddy was getting a a hair cut. He was eager to go and left with ease. An hour and a half later, little Gavin, whose hair could fit into a pony tail holder, came home looking like a school boy. He got his hair cut just like Daddy's. He sat in the chair and was a super boy, per Dad, no tantrums or screaming! WOW! Oh, and how cute it looks. I just can't get over how grown up it makes him took. The people at the Barber shop said he looked like a 4 or 5 year old. YIKES! He just turned 2.

My Otters

We had a blast today at the zoo. Gavin wore his "harness" so I could keep up with him and push the stroller. He did great and actually wanted to hold tail telling me "I hold the leash Mommy." Cracked me up because we walk Boomer and he knows it is called a leash. I just feel bad putting a collar and leash on my child.....so I call it a tail (the harness is a teddy bear.) Can't fool Gavin.
We went to the sting ray exhibit, he was thrilled. He was so excited, but did not want to touch them. I, however, did pet the sting rays, which were super slimy and they sucked on my hand....weird, probably good that Gavin opted out.

MY Sting RAYS!!!!!

I took Gavin to the Dallas Aquarium in Downtown for a special Mommy and me day. We met Casey and Carter there (Gavin's little buddy from infancy). Gavin loves going to the aquarium and was so excited to see the sea otters (who he does a special dance for), the sting rays (his fav), the sharks, the turtles, the giant sea turtles, the manatees, and the flamingos (whom he imitates by standing on one leg smiling big!) At the sting ray area, Carter was trying to look at them and Gavin is totally trying to block him saying "No no Carter, my sting rays!" Stinker, no wonder I can't even get him to share with Grayson! He eventually calmed down and let Carter hang out and admire the sting rays. So cute seeing these little guys running around the rain forest laughing and smiling.

Grayson's 1st pair of Stride Rite shoes!

I finally broke down and got Grayson a pair of "real" shoes. He's been walking since 10 1/2 months and I just kept him in his cute Robeez. He really liked them. He kept squatting down to touch them and then he would stomp around the house.

Potty Training Anyone?!?!?!?

Okay, I don't think this is inappropriate as both my boys have their shorts on and are just pretending. We have the potty out for fun so Gavin gets used to it being around. We encourage him to sit on it. He knows what to do there and will say "Peepee and Poop!" However doing it is an entirely different story! The sound effects he makes for his bodily functions will leave you on the floor laughing...use you imagination. Anyways, Gavin is totally into sea creatures. He says "my sea creatures" and plays with his sting ray (his favorite), octopus, jelly fish, dolphin, leopard seal, lobster, crab, etc. He loves any cartoon with sea life and especially loves his Jaques Cousteau book. (this is the book he "reads" on his potty!) Grayson parrots everything Gavin does, so he will sit on the potty reading (I'm not kidding!) the Elmo potty book! It's just so funny.

Bounce and Spin Grayson!

WHOA, hold on Grayson! Grayson has been ridding his Zebra for a while now, but just recently figured out how to jump and spin on it. Sometimes he gets going so fast he fly's off the back side.

Balloon Babies

Okay, so YES I admit it, I spoil my boys! I just love 'em so much!!
Gavin loves balloons-for those of you who went to Grayson's b-day party, you witnessed 1st hand his love of balloons.. The good part is he likes to play with them for a little while and then he says "I want to sent the balloon to the moon!!" This translates to cut the string off to minimize the deadly effects to the birds and let the darn balloon go! We go in the backyard and he counts down "ready set 1,2,3, go!" and then he releases the balloon waving to it "bye bye balloon, go to the moon!" SO funny. Now Grayson has taken a liking to balloons too! 'Course he isn't crazy about the idea of letting it go yet. Gavin expects this event to occur nightly like dinner and bath..YIKES...so we are weaning the balloon frenzy...
