Hook'em For Heroes
We endured, without a catch, the Hook'em fundraiser. It was hot, like 90-100+ hot and the boys got fussy quick. Gavin thought it was cool for about 10 min then lost interest and Grayson could have cared less. They both changed their minds when they spotted the bounce houses. After jumping in plastic vinyl hot boxes they worked up an appetite and ate some Jimmy Johns sandwiches. Gavin also self taught chopsticks! Ah, grasshopper!!

G&G's new favorite sport
Greg is thrilled. He played lacrosse in College and thinks it's pretty cool that the boys want to play lacrosse. G&G take a sports class that introduces them to a variety of different sports. They focus on a new sport and learn about it and play it. Gavin wanted a lacrosse set. I was scared. I thought, great, a long stick with a net....wonder who'll get hit first. However to my surprise they both played great and well! I am proud to say nobody uses them as beating sticks.....yet!

Back to Our Own Rooms
The boys have their own rooms and life if much better now! We are teaching them about continents and habitats and what animals live where. I found these fantastic maps and we put them up to reinforce what we are learning. G&G have really learned alot. They can tell you what animals live where and then show you on their globes and maps where that continent is. It's great to see them excited to learn. They love having their own rooms. Each boy have a table and chairs in their room and a bookshelf/storage bins for their toys, color books and reading books. They like to play separate but LOVE to play together. I catch them playing so nice together. It makes me happy!!
Summer Fun
The boys love running and I love it when they run! They sleep much better after a great sweaty work out. Papa and ShooShoo's house has a great hill and super thick grass. They boys not only love going over there to play in their amazing pool but now they like to go over there to run in the soft grass. Grayson says "You have soft grass ShooShoo, we have country grass at our house, it's not soft." What he means to say is we have crunchy grass...No matter how much we water, even $350 water bill, or how much we fertilize our huge front and back yard grass is just can't compare to Papa and ShooShoo's! Oh and on the plus side, we don't have to worry about snakes...copper heads and water moccasins, which have all been spotted in our neighborhood...nice!

Gavin's practicing Prison Medicine now.....
Dress up is a favorite around the Howard House. And now we are getting creative and using all sorts of imagination. I have no idea where this one came from however, Gavin loves to be Dr. Royer (used to be Trone, then Bang, now it's Papa's surgeon Dr Royer) and he loves locking up the bad guys. So, he puts Grayson is cuffs, then proceeds to hog tie his feet (notice little brother still is smiling) and give him medicine (we used to give syrup medicine in a syringe, so he doesn't associate the syringe with shots.....yet!) Grayson gets a gold star for tolerating his big brother's antics. He just smiled and laughed the entire time. God bless Grayson!!!

Happy 4th of July!!
G&G experienced their first July 4th fireworks this year. We went with the Hammond Crew to Harry Myers Park and enjoyed the unusually cool summer evening with our buddies! The kids had a great time and the fireworks were great. Seeing these 4 kids together warms my heart. They have literally grown up together and we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our freedom.
